 A Brief History of the Douglas 63rd

The 63rd Army Air Forces Flying Training Detachment at Douglas. Georgia, is a notable example of the progress of the primary schools in the Southeast The outstanding physical features of this well-ordered school bear mute testimony of the brisk activity which has gone into the making of its history.



This Site is dedicated to Paul Schlundt, who worked for 30 years accumulating, the lists of cadets, personnel and trainers found in this site.  His personal contact with the many men and women who served our country and who where involved in the Douglas 63rd Training Army Training Detachment lead to volumes of correspondence and photos that documented the history of the Douglas 63rd. Most of the information in this site is possible because of the dedicated commitment of Paul Schlundt.
